The sociable weaver is a fascinating bird that I discovered in Namibia’s Etosha National Park. They spend years building huge nests in trees and continue to build on them, until they eventually fall apart or break the tree limbs. They are the largest nests built by any bird. If you are a bit of a nature nerd, watch this video about the sociable weaver. If you’re not, at least watch the first 30 seconds to see a massive nest!
Holy cow!!! Never seen a nest like that before.
I know, it’s crazy right?!
That’s so cool! Animals are never cease to amaze me!
It really is something how these birds spend years building these nests! I guess it’s true what they say- you learn something new everyday, and this just happens to be fascinating in my opinion ;)
