I spent the summer of 2006 studying in Hawaii. And it was blissful. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Since I started this blog well after that summer, I’d like to go back and share some of the amazing places I explored on Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island. Today though, is a sneak peak of what I love about Hawaii:
Snorkeling:
I’m a fish. I started swimming competitively when I was five. I love the ocean, and of course, I love to snorkel! On Oahu, the most famous place to snorkel is Hanauma Bay, but the North Shore also has some little snorkeling spots that are really nice.
National Parks:
On the Big Island sits Volcanoes National Park.
Adventure:
Swimming in caves and jumping off waterfalls? Yes, please.
Waterfalls:
There are no shortage of them in Hawaii, and usually they are along great hiking trails.
Hiking:
There are so many great hiking spots in Hawaii that usually lead to magnificent views. Hands down one of the best things about Hawaii.
And of course, Swimming and Sun:
My roommate and I spent a LOT of time on the beach. We probably explored most of the beaches on Oahu, since they are so accessible by public transport. The beaches down by the Waikiki hotels are really overcrowded, so we enjoyed visiting other beaches that were quieter.
What’s your favorite thing about Hawaii?
I’m not sure I can pick a favorite! I have spent SO much time there and on each island. Kauai is my favorite island. Such unbelievable beauty!!! Love these pics.
I’ve never been but I want to go. My parents went when I was 5 and mom talked about it for years.
